I’ll be moving away from Koreatown next week. To Glendale. To the tree-lined, sleepy, garbage-free streets of Glendale. After five years of cockroaches, vandalism, crime, squalor, noise, water-dripping ceilings, thuggery and the general mannerlessness of the dirt poor — I’ve had enough.

But now I have the massive weight of moving in my near future. Tonight, the weekend, and the subsequent week will all be in service of packing and hauling my belongings to Glendale. It seems impossible. I think it’s precisely this laziness that has kept me trapped here for so many years. Somehow, I have more STUFF than most people I know. I have a shitload of books.

Moving when you’re broke is also not something I’d recommend. It feels heavier than any box.

Watch this space for happier, post-move natterings. Soon I’ll be filing my first blog entry as a happy Glendalian! But for now, still signing off as a grumpy K-Townie. (K-Towner? Koreatownean?)
